Ellen Hodakova Larsson likes deconstruction and utilitarian components. The highlights of her 2023 Spring Summer Womens Runway Collection during Mode à Paris Féminin, Paris Fashion Week in France explored everyday things such as belts, letters, leather uppers and bras. Let them eat cake!

Beltway: Recycled belts with designer buckles are the first motif. These straps are woven together with a crosshatch pattern as seen on a crop top midriff, miniskirt and strapless gown. Vertically arranged, these belts form into looped fringes on a party dress and a fishnet mesh halterneck dress.
Brassiere: Who would have thought bras could be sculptural? These lingerie lace pieces are patched together to create a bubbly dress and a one shoulder eveningwear garment. The deconstructed bras show an organic form or can be utilized as parts of hemlines.
Chain Letter: I am sure this would be from a school project. Some kid may have already thought of using letters, mails and envelopes into wardrobe pieces. I thought the dog ate my mail but they actually turned it into a dress.
Leathernecks: The materials are literally recycled from men’s leather shoe uppers. You can even see the shoelaces. The midi skirt and open shoulder black gown show it all.
Puff Ball: The puffier the better! Puff ball dresses and poufy sculptural tops have become a staple for couture designers. Here, they were oversized or looking like giant bulbs. Pair them with tight stockings to accentuate the shape.
Waist Land: These garments look heavy. It is an array of waistband pants or shorts layered into pleats. They are then formed into a strapless gown, a cocktail dress and a cape.
