The ultra imaginative Rei Kawakubo has done it again during Mode à Paris Féminin, Paris Fashion Week in France. The Comme des Garçons 2023 Spring Summer Womens Runway Collection continued to inspire with its sculptural and otherworldly constructions.

Cocoon: Enveloping the bodies are giant bulb-like spheres. Covering the heads are oversized wrapped hoods in yonic shapes. Other creations show a wreath shape and a gigantic flower bud. The fabrics are jacquards in floral motif, tattered mesh garments and PVC-like textures.
Tier List: Layers come in different packages. One look has lifesaver rings on top of each other. They look like padded loops and inflatables. The other is an array of undulating curves or waved panels in a tiered manner.
Sculpture: Take note of the folded origami flowers and trinkets that are shaped like a helmet or a crown used as headwear. There is also another one with a cage. You can envision a giant lantern or a cylindrical shaped pill. These sculptures are evident on a wide sleeve blouse, an oversized floral skirt, an elongated sleeve flower dress and a mesh patched decorative overcoat.
