Alexander McQueen exhibited their 2014 Resort Womens Pre Collection. Creative director Sarah Burton’s inspiration came from 1940s workwear and the new generation of 1970s hippies. Denim and jeanswear explored multi-panel patchwork fabrics in monochromatic layers and incorporation of cargo pockets, belts and cut off hems. A colorful and lively abstract floral print pattern complemented the denim pieces and also played around a farmer’s dress. Workwear inspired uniforms, utility jackets, cargo shorts and cropped pants had marbled urban camouflage prints, embossed ornamental decor, ruffled drawstring sleeves and large belted waistbands. A luxurious gown with 3D cutaway designs, flower embroidery, doily knitted crochets and intricate lace was the pinnacle to yet another fashion forward ensembles. From the presentation, we selected only the top looks and our favorite pieces.
