Brazilian denim label, tng, exhibited their 2014 Summer Mens Runway Collection during Fashion Rio at Rio de Janeiro. The catwalk inspiration came from the traditional Indian festivals, specifically Holi or Festival of Colors and Divali or Festival of Lights. The rich mixture of vibrant hues, embellishments and prints engulfed in tng’s signature style made the outfits a quirky fun and sporty streetwear experience.
Menswear tints and tones explored peach pinks, tangelo oranges and deep seafoam blues. Jeanswear designs and treatments had multi-panel fabric sections with foiled textures, retro acid wash batik effect, artistic paint daubs ink stains and grungy black marble. Denim jeans’ fits are either easy loose, tapered cropped cinch up, knee high Bermuda style and low drop crotch carrot cut slim. Traditional ethnic prints added character. Style pieces shown were collarless denim shirts, waistcoat vests, tank tops, hooded sweatshirts, blazers and motorcycle biker or bomber varsity jackets. Accessories included duffel bags, retro sunglasses, streetwear studded caps and hi-top sneakers. From the presentation, we selected only the top looks and our favorite pieces.
